WELCOME APEC 2017

PALM GARDEN RESORT – ready to welcome APEC 2017 (Asia – Pacific Economic Cooperation) in Hoi An.
It is truly a great honor to become the official resort in Hoi An for important Finance Ministers’ meetings & others of APEC 2017 from October 19-21. Palm Garden Resort is going to last steps in upgrading conference halls, facilities to welcome this very important event.
On the afternoon of 22 September, at Palm Garden Resort in Hoi An, Vice Chairman Tran Dinh Tung chaired the meeting with the departments and agencies of the province and Hoi An city government to instruct the organizations for APEC Finance Ministers’ Meeting 2017.
According to the plan, from 19 to 21 October, three activities will take place in Hoi An. It was the Senior Officials’ meeting on October 19; Vice Ministers’ meeting on October 20; Ministers’ meeting on the afternoon of the 20th and all day of the 21st.
There are about 500 delegates, including ministers, vice ministers and members of 21 APEC member economies, representatives of international organizations such as IMF, WB, ADB, OCED.
Palm Garden Resort is in the process of finalizing final stages to complete the conference halls, which has completed 80% of the progress and will be completed by the end of September 2017. Meanwhile, the Department of Health has planned the inspection teams to ensure food hygiene and safety at shops, hotels and catering facilities for conferences.
Le Ngoc Tuong, deputy director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said that the department has developed a tour program for ministers and vice ministers. Currently, the organizers are waiting for official comments to complete the program and implement it.
The Department of Foreign Affairs has worked with the International Cooperation Department (Ministry of Finance) to provide uniforms for volunteers and is planning to recruit volunteers in Quang Nam province to meet the requirements of Organizers.
At the same time, the Department of Foreign Affairs also advised the Chairman of the provincial People’s Committee to approve the sample of Hoi An lanterns for delegates attending the conference. Each delegate will be given a pair of hand-painted lanterns printed with APEC logo in Quang Nam.
Huynh Trung Nguyen, deputy director of the provincial police, said that the unit had developed nine plans and five plans to ensure absolute safety for the delegates attending the conference as well as during the tour of the delegates.
Vice chairman of the provincial People’s Committee Tran Dinh Tung asked the departments, branches and localities concerned to urgently and more urgently prepare. Pay specially attention to communication, propaganda about APEC activities taking place in Hoi An.
